Apprenticeships
CitiPower and Powercor apprenticeships offer a structured combination of formal TAFE study and paid field work to enable you to gain an industry recognised trade qualification whilst increasing your skills.
As an apprentice, you must be willing to work outdoors, on ladders and elevated work platforms, in all weather conditions.
Our Apprenticeships operate over a four year period and can be undertaken in one of the following disciplines:
Powerline Worker
Your main role will be to construct and maintain overhead and underground electrical lines and structures.
Electrical Fitter
Your main role will be to construct and maintain electrical substations, including switching and rectifying faults with electrical plant and equipment.
Meter Technician
Your work will involve the installation, maintenance, and testing of energy metering and associated communication equipment.
Cable Jointer
Your work will involve installing and maintaining cables located in underground pipes and trenches and also terminate cables on electrial equipment.
